Jacob is a family business that truly cares!

In Dec 1977 James D Jacob (Jake) and eldest son James Jr. (Bud) founded the Jacob Co. At that time Jake was a National Vice-President with the Central Hardware corporate office in Bridgeton, Mo.. His duties included overseeing the installed products division for all the stores throughout the Midwest. He saw firsthand the 2 most common traits contractors posses. They over promise and under deliver. Jake approached Bud in the fall of '77 and said "if we run a home improvement company on 2 simple principles we can be very successful. First, really "care" for our customers and their wishes so they get what they want and not what we think they want. Second, simply do what we say we are going to do. Jake and Bud quickly set their plan into motion. After convincing the bank to lend them their start-up money they soared into the small business world. The two of them had no idea this new little business would grow into one of the region's top remodelers with national recognition. During our first years in business Jake was always telling the crews that Quality was the most important thing and this became our motto… "Where Quality Counts". Jake passed away in 2001 after a long battle with cancer. He left behind a family business that to this day still believes in the values that it all started with in 1977. Jacob is still family owned and operated. Bud Jacob, Scott Jacob and Jan Jacob Bisso are the present day partners. Scott is the company President, Bud is VP/Production and Jan is our VP/Comptroller. The three work together to keep Jacob at the top of the remodeling industry. Our awards and achievements over the years have proven that we do what we say we are going to do and back all our installations with pride. Dad, thanks for all you taught us. We will continue to place caring above short term gains. You would be proud!

Scott Jacob, President, has been an extremely active member with the local HBA since 1982 and served as President of the HBA in 2004 and also was Chairperson for the local Remodeler's council in 1998. Jan Jacob-Bisso, Vice President, has served as President of the Fairview Heights Chamber of Commerce. Jan continues to remain active with the Chamber and has been a volunteer for the St. Louis Better Business Bureau since 2003. The company was founded by James D. Jacob Sr. (Jake) and James D. Jacob Jr. (Bud) 33 years ago. In 2004, the BBB presented Jacob the coveted 'Torch Award' for excelling in customer satisfaction. Jacob Sunroom & Exteriors has taken on many community projects over the years and continues to give back to the industry and neighborhoods making them an obvious choice of this prestigious recognition.

September 10, 2010, Washington, DC — Jacob Sunroom & Exteriors in Fairview Heights, IL was named the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) October’s Remodeler of the Month. Jacob Sunroom & Exteriors was selected through a stringent judging process as they are up against hundreds of other remodeling companies from all around the country. After completing their review of the entries the NAHB stated "Jacob exemplifies the best in their industry."

The purpose of the NAHB Remodeler of the Month award program is to celebrate local, active remodelers who stand out because of quality work, customer service, community involvement, and dedication to furthering the industry. The winner, once selected by the NAHB Remodelers, is profiled in the national publication Qualified Remodeler magazine.
